Absolutely! Tailwheel airplanes have a similar accident rate to traditional tricycle gear aircraft. However, accidents do happen, but can be easily prevented through thorough and comprehensive training.

You'll learn to master fundamental "stick and rudder" skills including:

• Proper use of the rudder in all flight regimes. 

• Crosswind technique for landing and taxiing on the ground. 

• Master Wheel and Three point landings.

You'll also unlock the ability to fly into unimproved grass strips and be able to fly a wider range of aircraft! 

Absolutely! Learning to fly a Tailwheel aircraft will beat out the bad habits you may have developed while flying Tricycle gear airplanes. Namely, you'll learn just how active you need to be on the rudders while flying!

Length of training is typically gauged by pilot proficiency. A proficient pilot will be able to become skillful at flying a tailwheel aircraft in at most 6 hours. 

• Tailwheel taxiing procedures

• Power-Off 180s

• Soft field technique

• Go-Around procedures 

Yes, incorporating the endorsement into a flight review is an excellent way to get the "best bang for the buck." Not only will you review some of the knowledge you might have lost, you will also gain an entirely new skillset.
